“A Gogo” French for abundance, never ending, “the music will not stop”

What is Django a Gogo?

The 2018 festival will mark the 11th anniversary of Django a Gogo.  What started as a local series of concerts in Brooklyn and Queens, has become the best touring Django Reinhardt festival in the United States.
In order to incorporate music education to the festival we started our own, weeklong music camp and concert series.
The culminating concert will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the legendary Town Hall in New York City.

Where is Django a Gogo?

The music camp, and nightly concert series will be held at the beautiful Woodland in Maplewood, NJ.  More information on this venue is available here.
The special Saturday night concert will be held just over the bridge in Manhattan at one of the most prestigious theaters in the world: The Town Hall

Where will I sleep?

The town of Maplewood is conveniently located 18 miles from New York City, and just 5 miles from Newark Liberty International Airport.  The proximity to both the city and the airport provide participants with a large number of hotel options and accommodations.
We will help shuttle students to and from these hotels, and will assist in arranging car pools with other students. In addition there are several Airbnb rentals in Maplewood and the surrounding towns (South Orange, West Orange, Union, Springfield and Millburn).

Where will I eat?

The town of Maplewood is a culinary delight-a town brimming with restaurants and cafés.  Upon arrival to camp you will be given a town map, which will show you all the local establishments, and will highlight the ones providing camp attendees discounts on their purchases.  For more information about the community of Maplewood click here

How will I get there?

Flying into the area is easy with Newark Liberty International Airport just minutes away.
Trains arrive from New York City twice an hour just two blocks from the camp venue.
Maplewood is located just off of Interstate 78 in New Jersey.

How will I get to The Town Hall?

Just two blocks from The Woodland, trains arrive twice hourly bound for Penn Station in New York City.  Upon arrival at Penn station, it is a nice 15-block walk north to the theatre, or a two-stop subway ride.  Taxi/Uber will cost about $6-$12 dollars depending on traffic.  Pick up on the 8th Avenue side of Penn station

What if I just want to attend the concerts?

Yes, please do! Individual and full week concert passes are on sale here.
The Town Hall tickets are available here.

What if I want to attend just one day or two days of camp?

Camp tickets are very limited, so we are unable to sell individual day passes.

What if I cannot afford to pay for the camp all at once?

We offer a payment plan to divide your payment into three parts. Details about his plan are available here.

What do I need to bring to camp with me?

Just your instrument and your love of music!

Will private lessons be available with the teachers?

No, private lessons are not available.  However, we have made the conscious decision to limit the number of campers this year in an effort to provide everyone with intimate, small group instruction.
